Story / Additional InfoEvery year since the Telluride Film Festival's inception, a different artist has been selected to create a poster for the festival with the requirement that they include the word "show" in the image. Ruscha's composition borrows its text from a large illuminated sign. The actual neon sign can be found outside the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, where the festival's awards are given out. Other artists who have been commissioned to create posters for past festivals include David Salle, Doug and Mike Starn, Jim Dine, and Francesco Clemente. This poster comes from the 26th annual festival from 1999. The edition is sold out and hard to find. Even more rare are the few signed impressions, of which this is one.
